Hentley Farm Wines: Barossa Valley Shiraz, Grenache and Blanc de Noir

Among rolling hills on the banks of Greenock Creek, the Hentley Farm vineyard grows Shiraz with saturated colour, deep fruit and soft, savoury tannins. It is a corner of the Barossa Valley where every block tells a slightly different story.

Our Hentley Farm wines collection leans towards red wine: estate Shiraz, Grenache and Cabernet, the Villain & Vixen range from across the Barossa, plus a crisp Blanc de Noir and an Eden Valley Riesling.

Where Is Hentley Farm?

Hentley Farm sits at Seppeltsfield in the west of the Barossa Valley, on the banks of Greenock Creek. Keith and Alison Hentschke established the estate in 1997, after local winemakers and viticulturalists advised Keith to head north west and look for red brown soil over limestone.

Keith and his team divided the vineyard into nine blocks by soil, aspect and climate, planted mostly to Shiraz with Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and a little Viognier. The first Hentley Farm Barossa wines were released in 2002.

Chief Winemaker Andrew Quin, who worked with Yalumba's premium reds before he joined, has influenced the vineyard's evolution since 2008, crafting modern wines from traditional Barossa varieties. Visitors can taste them in a heritage cottage from the 1840s, and the estate also has its own restaurant.
