What Is Italian Sparkling Wine?

A smaller number of premium wines, such as Franciacorta, are made by the traditional method like Champagne, with a second fermentation in the bottle for finer, creamier bubbles.

How to Serve Italian Sparkling

Serve Prosecco and Italian sparkling well chilled, around 6 to 8 degrees, so the bubbles stay fresh and lively. A white wine glass shows off more aroma than a narrow flute.

Open the bottle gently, easing the cork out with a soft sigh, and enjoy it young while it is at its freshest.

Food Pairing Ideas

Prosecco is wonderfully easy with food, lovely with antipasto, seafood, fried snacks and, of course, in a spritz. Its fresh fruit and soft bubbles suit almost any casual occasion.

Sweet Asti and Moscato are made for fruit and pastries, while Lambrusco loves salami, pizza and rich cured meats.
