Fortified Beginnings

For most of its existence, St Hallett has been owned and co-owned by the visionary Lindner family. The roots trace back to 1838, when they migrated from their hometown of Silesia in Poland to the Barossa. Enduring financial challenges with unwavering determination and a deep love for winemaking, they began their journey in a humble galvanised shed, crafting ports, sherries, and marsala. Today, after more than seven decades, St Hallett is renowned for producing wines of extraordinary quality and character.

St Hallett's Shiraz Saga

St Hallett is known for its bold and fruit-driven wines, and wine connoisseurs particularly love its Shiraz. The winery's flagship Shiraz, Old Block, showcases the harmony found between Barossa’s two valley sub-regions (Barossa Valley & Eden Valley) and is known for its intense flavours of dark fruit, liquorice, and spice. The Blackwell Shiraz, named after the winery's founding winemaker Stuart Blackwell, is another standout from low-yielding produce of exceptionally concentrated berries with great depth of flavour and dense inky colour.

Grenache Delights and Other Marvels

Apart from Shiraz, St Hallett is famous for its exceptional Grenache-based wines. The winery's Old Vine Grenache is made from 65-year-old vines and displays rich red fruit and anise. The iconic St Hallett Rosé is a light-medium-bodied dry Grenache inspired by the flavours of southern France and is known for its floral and fruity character. St Hallett also has a range of classic Cabernet Sauvignons and Rieslings known for their elegance and finesse.
