Made by the fabulous Bonnard family with fruit grown on the steep hills of Bugey where the local Mondeuse grape thrives. 95% of the fruit is destemmed, with a cold maceration followed by 20 days of fermentation. The wine was then aged for 10 months in barrel, using older barrels of three to four years, allowing a gentle élevage preserving the wonderful freshness and purity of the fruit without adding any oakiness.

The nose jumps out of the glass with notes of blackcurrant and dark cherry. On the palate, a finely built frame delivers layers of dark fruit and gentle wafts of baking spice, before giving way to a delicate floral lift of violets and clean blue fruit on the finish.
