This Freycinet Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot is an elegant blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (73%), Merlot (19%), Cabernet Franc (5%). A unique expression of place, the combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a sprinkling of Cabernet Franc ensures the ideal balance of plush berry fruit, spice and herbaceous, savoury complexity. Deep ruby with a hint of purple, heady aromas of cigar box, cassis and liquorice fill the glass. The supple and harmonious palate melds juicy plums, ripe berries and blackcurrants with liquorice, spice, herbs and black olives which are further complemented by attractively integrated savoury oak. Extended post ferment maceration and long maturation in barriques has allowed for the development of fine, elegant tannins and with a long finish, promising to reward with careful cellaring.

This wine will pair well with heartier meals like roasts, stews, and pasta dishes.
