Dry Wine: Crisp, Clean Reds, Whites, Rosés & Sparkling

Dry wine is what most of us simply think of as wine. From a crisp glass of Sauvignon Blanc to a bold Shiraz, dry wines are fresh, food friendly, and free of any sugary sweetness. If you love a wine that finishes clean and lets the fruit, structure, and character shine, you are in the right place.

What Does Dry Wine Mean?

A dry wine is a wine with little to no residual sugar. During fermentation, yeast converts the natural sugar in grapes into alcohol. When nearly all of that sugar is converted, the wine is called dry. As the opposite of a sweet wine, a dry wine tastes crisp and clean rather than sugary.

Dry does not mean a wine lacks flavour. In fact, dry wines often show the purest expression of their grape and region, with vibrant fruit, savoury notes, and refreshing acidity. They are by far the most common style of wine, covering most reds, whites, rosés, and sparkling wines you will come across. For a style with just the gentlest touch of sweetness, our off dry wines are the next step up the scale.
