Our Heathcote estate blend Shiraz is named after this fascinating chapter in Tyrrell family history.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlanted in 1994, our Heathcote vineyard is situated on a strip of ancient Cambrian soil on the east facing slopes of Mount Camel in Central Victoria, north of the Heathcote township. These ancient soils are synonymous with the region and gives the wine its unique structure. Near perfect conditions were experienced in Heathcote for the 2021 season. Great winter rains were followed by a mild and stress free spring and autumn. With no rush to pick, all of the blocks were harvested at their optimal ripeness levels which delivered exceptional fruit. The grapes were fermented in a combination of open and closed top fermenters. Maturation took place in predominantly French oak barriques (15% new) for 12 months before bottling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA wonderfully fragrant, intoxicating aroma of dark berries and white pepper.
